What is Rotary?

Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.For over 50 years, the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Rotary Club has been at the heart of community service, fostering connections and delivering meaningful change to our neighborhoods.

Guiding Principles

These principles have been developed over the years to provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for our relationships with each other and the action we take in the world.

Magic of Rotary Logo

Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service

  • High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

  • The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;

  • The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

  • Is it the TRUTH?

  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Rotary’s Annual Holiday Celebration for Nuffer Elementary Joan Sander Memorial Unit

The Norwalk-Santa Fe Springs Rotary Club is honored to host a special holiday gift-giving celebration for the incredible students of the Nuffer Elementary Joan Sander Memorial Unit. Unique to Nuffer Elementary is their Joan Sander Memorial Unit, which is a building dedicated to the education and care of students with special needs. The school is committed to helping all students with varying degrees of disabilities to reach their individual learning plan goals. Each year, we bring Santa to personally deliver gifts, filling the room with joy, excitement, and holiday magic. Families are invited to join in a festive Christmas sing-along, creating cherished memories for all.What makes this tradition even more special is the heartfelt care behind every gift. Rotary Club members ensure that each child receives something chosen just for them—something they truly wish for and will treasure. Seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter is a gift in itself.For over 30 years, we’ve been privileged to share in these magical moments, reaffirming our commitment to making a meaningful difference in our community. This annual celebration is more than just an event—it’s a reflection of the kindness, generosity, and holiday spirit that bring us all together.

Our Ongoing Community Commitment

Beyond these initiatives, the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Rotary Club is dedicated to supporting and uplifting our community in many ways. Our efforts include:

Scholarships – Providing financial assistance to local students pursuing higher education.Food Drives – Ensuring families in need have access to essential meals and resources.Community Partnerships – Collaborating with local organizations and the City of Santa Fe Springs to expand our reach and impact.

Together, we are committed to service, leadership, and community growth, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Youth Engagement: Investing in Our Future Leaders

Take action, build international understanding, and form lifelong friendships!
Interact Clubs unite young leaders (ages 12-18) to develop essential leadership skills while embracing the power of Service Above Self. Through hands-on projects and community involvement, members gain real-world experience in teamwork, responsibility, and global citizenship.
We’re proud to support Interact Clubs at Santa Fe High School, home of the Chiefs, and St. Paul High School, home of the Swordsmen! These young leaders are making a lasting impact in their schools and communities.
